With restaurants in Philadelphia forced to close their doors due to the Coronavirus, and our health care workers on the front lines of this pandemic, I’ve decided to kill two birds with one stone and start a GoFundMe page.
With the funds raised from this campaign, we will not only be able to support local restaurants, but also say thanks to our local nurses, doctors, and other hospital workers with free breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I’ve set the goal at a simple $1000, but will update the goal to a higher amount should we reach it. I will continue this campaign as long as we’re raising money. All funds from this campaign will go towards supporting a local restaurant and our health care workers. The only thing I get out of this is karma.
Visit the GoFundMe page here!!!
I’ve already received confirmation from a the fantastic folks over at Four Sons Pizza that they will match whatever amount I raise in additional food, which makes your donations to this campaign even more impactful. If you are a local restaurant who’d like to contribute food to the cause, please reach out to me at phillyfoodporn @ gmail.com.
Should we have funds leftover at the end of all this, I’ll be donating it to Philabundance, a major food bank for the Philadelphia and tri-state area.
So please visit the GoFundMe page and consider donating. If you’re not in the position to do so, you can still support the campaign by sharing it with your friends on social media. Every donation is GREATLY appreciated, if even a few dollars or so.
Thank you all so much for your continued support over the years. In these troubled times, it’s comforting to know that I already have a community of supportive readers who’ve helped me in my charitable endeavors before.
I love you all. Stay happy. Stay healthy. And stay hungry.
